Paperweights! And other glass objects in my glass blowing class. Someone amazing gave me one of the best x-mas gifts ever that included a glass blowing class at Diablo Glass Studio.  I’ve had two out of the four classes and so far have produced two paperweights and three ornaments (pictures to follow).  Next week we are on to drinking glasses. It feels good to be making new art in a new medium.  I think that I may become addicted… and that might  be bad for my wallet (they say it takes 10 years to master the art).

41 days til guatemala!

Things that I am most excited about….

Lomas de Tzunuma @ Lake Atitlan : It seems that you have to walk up a million  and one step but for that view I think it is totally worth it.

The market at Chichicastenango.

and Tikal!

Other things that I am looking forward to in no paticualar order are…making a travel journal, photographing, eating fried plantains, a weeks paid vacation from work, meeting new people, and RELAXING!

1. jewelry &  2. paper goods

Pretty much everyone who knows me knows that I spend too much money on both of those things. I can spend hours upon hours in the Paper Source and leave with my wallet much lighter.  I have a large jewelry collection that has expanded from one jewelry box to two, and continues to grow.  Now I have a one stop site to get my fix for both.

My dear friend Maie has moved to the west coast and fulfilled her dream of opening her own shop with her best friend Nora.  Maie produces the paper  goods (anyone need custom  letter press wedding invitations?) and Nora the jewels (what girl doesn’t need a new pair of earings?).

So please check out their site or if you are in San Diego stop in their shop/studio and say hello!  I heart their products and you should too!
